Vintage Around-the-World Bridal Shower
One of my most favorite people in the world got engaged and I knew I wanted to throw her a bridal shower!! The bride-to-be, Annie, was one of the girls in the group I was a leader over at church. We (along with Rebekah, another girl from the group) connected right away and have been best friends ever since!
Annie went away to college to Brigham Young University, Hawaii. I know, I’m jealous too! It was there that she met her fiance, Adit. Adit is from Indonesia and also attends BYU-H. I loved that there was a lot of airplane travel to get these two in the right place at the right time to find each other. I found old atlas books at the thrift store and cut out the maps of where they were both from and where they met.
I found vintage postcards from Indonesia, California and Hawaii doing an image search online. I printed them out and used them for decorations.
Annie sent over lots of pictures of their many adventures together. This was so great for many of the guests in California who didn’t get the chance to meet her fiance.
I also found cute travel/love quotes to string up along with the pictures and vintage postcards. This one on the end says “You should be here with me.”
Here are the eats! Sticking with our travel theme, we had treats from mainland USA, Hawaii and Indonesia.
Bundt cakes and apple pie for good ole’ U. S. of A.
Fresh fruit, Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
, and Chocolate Covered Acai Berries
(I could probably eat a whole bag of those)
Marinated chicken and pork skewers and lumpia from a local place here! Mmmm, so good!!
I loved adding the globes and vintage suitcases throughout the room. Here are the favors.
Making the tags was so fun. I wanted them to be unique and tell their story. Love the connecting hearts!!
Each favor included two of these Chocolate Covered Macadamias
.
How can you think Hawaii and not have these!
There were a couple left over and I didn’t complain at all.
Mahalo Annie and Adit!
