A very merry unbirthday to you… to you!!
My girls all have summer birthdays. I had promised them a party but the summer kept us so busy that a party never happened. After feeling really guilty, I came up with a great idea! I’d throw an unbirthday party so it wouldn’t feel as weird being so late. I had all of their friends come with character inspired fashions (not a literal costume, just clothes that are reminiscent of a particular character),
I’m sure you can tell by now that I like to clear out my family room in order to make room for my parties. For this party, I also had my husband make an awning to hold my garden vines and lanterns. Don’t worry, he reused the wood for other projects.
I had the majority of these lanterns on hand and purchased a few more from the party store. The lights are garden lights from Target and the vines are from the dollar store.
We got cream puffs, madeleine cookies and brownie bites from Costco. We also had fresh fruit, homemade quiche, tuna and PBJ sandwich wedges.
For the birthday cupcakes, we went with carrot cake and cream cheese frosting with a rose topper.
We had a photo booth with props. The background with a black plastic tablecloth and face cards hung on strings.
