For me, the Fouth of July is always spent with family. Whether it’s swimming or playing games or watching fireworks, we are always together. I remember one year we played a bunch of simple games with the kids and had a blast. It wasn’t a ton of work and it was fun; which is a win for me! We thought we show off some family fun you could have with your own family this Fourth of July and decided to partner with one of our favorite companies, Oriental Trading!
These mini foam missiles from Oriental Trading are pretty fun to throw around.
Small stars and large stars seemed to be the perfect targets for our missiles. I used my Cricut to add point values to each star because we aren’t competitive at all. *wink wink*
Just stand back and aim!
I don’t think you can go wrong with your old fashioned carnival games. We grabbed the Fourth of July party cups to keep it extra festive.
How cute are these mini footballs? Great for knocking those cups!
Make sure you make those older kids step back a few steps!
We used the large flags and placed them in a circle.
Glow stick necklaces work perfectly for throwing. Maybe try this in the dark for some night time fun!
This Fourth of July lantern worked well to create this mini pull pinata. I cut a circle out of cardboard as my “door” and folded it in half around the metal to ensure if would open when pulled.
I used the hole at the bottom as a way to trace a piece of red glitter paper to cover the ugly cardboard.
Two ribbons are put through on each side of the cardboard to make two possible openings.
Washi tape was perfect to hold it closed but not keep it closed when pulled.
Adding more ribbon to the bottom to makes it festive and so they don’t know exactly which string to pull. Make sure to use small candy because of the small opening. Also, a small amount of candy was used so I didn’t overload the lantern. It’s just perfect for each kid to have their own personal pull pinata.
We hope you have a safe and super fun Fourth of July this year!
