My second oldest “graduated” from 8th grade this year! She also celebrated her 14th birthday in May so we decided to combine the two celebrations for one big flamingle! What better theme for a teenage girl than Flamingos!
Rose gold + flamingos + black and white = match made in heaven!
A few years back when we bought our Airstream (new post on that is in the works!!) I went flamingo crazy! I bought all the yard flamingos I could find. They sure came in handy for welcoming guests to the party! (Don’t mind our clover filled grass. We live in California and our grass was dead last year. This year we’re just glad to have something green… kind of anyway!)
Remember our chalkboard sign?? It’s a great addition to our welcome sign. My Heidi Swapp light box also helps set the tone. And that black and white rug…. Target, it’s like you design just for me!
One of my favorite party stores to shop at is the $.99 store. Can you believe all of the rose gold tableware and those flamingo cups are all from there?! Major score!
And the Target Dollar Spot was killing it this summer with these mini-sized yard flamingos!
Oh those straws were also a $.99 Store find. So cute!
Did you know you can buy fabric by the yard at IKEA?? Yep, IKEA!! That’s where our striped tablecloth came from. Our 10 ft. table covered for around $20!!!
This place setting makes me all sorts of happy!
Here’s is our “photo booth” area because, you know, teenagers!! And if you don’t instastory it, it’s like it didn’t really happen!
For our dinner, we went easy by ordering a taco platter set up from our local taqueria. No slaving away in the kitchen for me on this super hot day!
We kept it cool for our dessert but kept with the taco theme by serving ice cream tacos. I’ll repeat that… ICE CREAM TACOS!! Seriously, the hit of the party!!
The only thing I made from scratch were these waffle taco shells, original and chocolate.
The girls then chose their ice cream flavor(s) and syrup flavor.
They then were able to choose from a myriad of toppings! Pretty sure that Fruity Pebbles were on every single taco that night.
Most of the topping options stuck within our color scheme. I love for things to feel cohesive.
I painted these flamingo drink picks in rose gold and glued the food label on to let everyone know their options. So many things to choose from!!
Here’s one of the finished masterpieces! It tasted even better than it looks! And don’t you just love that little drip on the bottom?!
Another creation… Bright, cheerful and delicious!!
Our “cake” for the birthday girl were these pink flamingo cream puffs dusted with edible rose gold glitter that my mom made. They look so pretty perched on top of this gorgeous Amalfi Decor cake plate. Those pink beauties pop against the black!
Aren’t they just delightful?! All in all, this was one for the books! My girl and her friends had such an amazing time! I’m so proud of my Brookie and all that she’s accomplished and was so happy to celebrate her at this sweet celebration!!
Oh wow a flamingo themed party. I’ve never thought of it. It would be a really nice theme for my daughter’s 7th birthday party. Everything you had in that party looks organized and well planned. Thank you for the idea!
Thank you! Glad you liked it. 🙂
