Ready or not summer is coming and I’m getting excited about swimming, going to the beach, picnics, and our relaxed schedule. I’m also excited about using this fun new bag at all those activities. This is a super easy DIY to make this lemon Mickey cooler bag for a bargain!
So I saw this bag on the Disney website and instantly fell in love. Almost the next day I saw an almost identical lemon wedge bag at the Target Dollar Spot. Instantly I thought I could make a less expensive version. $24.95 isn’t outrageous but it doesn’t hurt to save a buck or two.
Grab this adorable lemon wedge cooler bags for only $5 at the Target Dollar Spot.
I used Cricut vinyl in a color I didn’t care about ruining and made a stencil. You can reuse one piece of transfer tape to apply all your stencils so you don’t waste a bunch.
Apply your stencil to each section of your lemon. Use the Cricut Scraper tool to make sure all the edges are stuck down on the vinyl.
I used white fabric paint as a base and then did layers of white acrylic paint to get the desired opaqueness. I topped it with a top layer of fabric paint.
Don’t wait until it’s totally dry to peel off stencil-it could tear your design. I would recommend it be semi-dry.
Now your are ready to have your favorite drink on hand this summer!
Here’s a side by side of the actual Disney Store lemon wedge bag next to my DIY one. Not bad, right?? I think it would make a great gift for your buddies.
Oh and I also spotted this small lemon wedge bag at the Target Dollar Spot. I thought it would make a great matching bag to my cooler bag.
You would cut out the same shape cut instead of making a stencil I would use the Cricut white vinyl and apply it to the bag.
I love how it turned out!
This bag is perfect for keeping the things you don’t want wet, dry.
I’m ready for the summer rocking this mickey lemon wedge bag duo.
