My girls love to dress up and get festive for easter. I don’t know how many pairs of bunny ears we have lying around the house. I decided it would be fun to upcycle those cheap dollar store ears and of course put a Disney twist on them.
I started with these bunny ears that I actually got from Walmart.
I traced the ear to make a pattern for the inside. It was a rough draft and then I trimmed it a little to make sure it fit the inside of the ear.
Once I had my pattern, I used it to cut the fabric I wanted for the inside of the ear. A 1/8th yard of fabric was plenty for this project with some left over.
Using a hot glue gun, I put glue on the edges of the inside part of the ear and glued down the fabric.
I bought some accessories at the Dollar Store. The flowers were perfect for spring and the pink bow reminded me of Marie from The Aristocats.
Now, I had to Disney-up my spring ones. I grabbed some 4-inch embroidery hoops to make some Mickey ears. Using just the inside hoops, I glued them on the headband. You could also wrap the hoop with ribbon, glue small flowers on them, or paint them. I just preferred them raw.
My daughter loves her spring Mickey bunny ears to celebrate Easter!
These little Marie ears are perfect for her!
