“To all who come to this happy place… Welcome” to a Disneyland themed baby shower!!
I threw a baby shower for a fellow Disney loving friend who adopted the cutest little boy.
I made this custom for the baby shower to welcome the guests.
What says Disneyland more than the floral Mickey photo op when entering the park!! I recreated this in my front room and had a Polaroid ready to capture each guest as they arrived.
My camera, special Mickey and Minnie themed Polaroid film and photo props.
Each guest also got a lanyard to put their photo in.
And if you have a lanyard, you have to have a pin. This one exclaims “OH BOY!” letting us all know who’s being celebrated at this shower.
Each guest was encouraged to share their wish for the new addition.
The tables and food at the shower coordinated with the map of Disneyland. Each table represented a land and had a corresponding tablecloth and centerpiece that highlighted a ride from that land.
Tomorrowland: Star Tours with Star Wars fruit snacks; Toon Town: Mickey’s house with jelly beans; Frontierland; Shooting Exposition with rootbeer barrels; Critter Country; Winnie the Pooh with Bit O Honey; New Orleans Square: Pirates of the Caribbean with chocolate coins; Adventureland: The Tiki Room with dried pinapple; Fantasyland: Teacups with ring pops; Main Street USA: The Disneyland Express with “coal” jelly beans.
Found these Mickey shaped balloons on Amazon. If you blow up each ear before you try the head part, they have a better success rate. Because of the heat during the party, some of the ears deflated so be aware if you buy these.
Here is a mini Mickey ear hat they once sold at Disneyland. Not sure they still do. I found mine on eBay. I also took darling pictures of baby Andrew wearing the hat but until the adoption is finalized, I’ll refrain from posting any pictures of him.
Now on to the food! Let’s start with dessert first! In honor of Main Street, I made churro cupcakes. I found the churro recipe here. The cupcakes are white cupcakes with a chocolate butter cream.
We also had Monte Cristo sandwiches from New Orleans Square, Mini turkey legs from Frontierland, Bengle BBQ beef skewers from Adventureland, Greek Salad from Fantasyland (think It’s a Small World ride), Rabbit’s veggie garden from Critter Country and Mickey rice crispy treats from Toon Town.
Not pictured are star shaped sugar cookies from Tomorrowland that were the party favor sent home with each guest for them to eat… you guessed it… tomorrow! 🙂
