Create Unique Favors with Cricut

Earlier this month, we posted the details of our Elegant wedding.  There was one more fun detail about the event that we wanted to share:  the favors!!  We knew with our simple and natural theme that we wanted to keep our favor in line with that.  Thankfully, we were able to use our handy, dandy Cricut machine and some of their amazing products!  I’m sure most people are aware that Cricut machines can cut paper and vinyl but they can cut SO much more!  We were excited to use something different to create a unique and fun hand-out for each guest.

I mentioned in our DIY Farmhouse Patio table post that I was planning on using it for an upcoming wedding.  Well, I’m super excited to share the finished project with you!!  Oriental Trading helped supply some special finishing touches to make this elegant, simple, nature-inspired wedding reception.  I love that Oriental Trading has a whole section of their site devoted to weddings!  It’ll make planning your special day easy and affordable.

DIY Farmhouse Patio Table

I have a wedding coming up that I’m decorating for. The bride and groom are the cutest and want a modern outdoorsy feel. Clean lines and greenery. I thought one of the main focal points could be a simple farmhouse table for the newlyweds to sit at during the reception. Even though my table was made for a wedding, I feel that this table would be an amazing addition to anyone’s backyard patio!  And you can get all the supplies at your local hardware store!!

Garden Party Wedding Reception

Awhile back I was approached by Heidi, a dear friend of mine whose daughter, Emily, was getting married. She asked if I’d be willing to help put together a celebration for the bride and groom. Of course, I said yes!  Not only do I adore Heidi but I had been a youth leader at church for Emily a couple of times. It has been so fun to see the beautiful young lady she has grown into!

Heidi and Emily really allowed me a lot of freedom in planning. They basically gave me the wedding colors and said go!  I recalled a few special memories that Heidi had shared with me about her family that I used as inspiration for the garden party theme.  Here is the foyer where the guests first enter. I always love to make sure that the second you enter a party, you can sense what the theme is.

Vintage Love Letters Wedding

The bride and groom for this wedding were the cutest!  They knew each other in high school but it wasn’t until life took them on adventures to different places and they began to write letters to one another, that they started to build a great friendship that eventually turned into love!  What a great love story, right?!

Vintage Around-the-World Bridal Shower

One of my most favorite people in the world got engaged and I knew I wanted to throw her a bridal shower!!  The bride-to-be, Annie, was one of the girls in the group I was a leader over at church.  We (along with Rebekah, another girl from the group) connected right away and have been best friends ever since!
Annie went away to college to Brigham Young University, Hawaii.  I know, I’m jealous too!  It was there that she met her fiance, Adit.  Adit is from Indonesia and also attends BYU-H.  I loved that there was a lot of airplane travel to get these two in the right place at the right time to find each other.  I found old atlas books at the thrift store and cut out the maps of where they were both from and where they met.

DIY Wedding Decor

A good friend of mine was asked to decorate a wedding reception.  She asked me to help out and this is what we came up with!  I think it turned out great!!
Planning for around 200, we used five rows of four long tables.  Each table had a silver runner, floral centerpiece, tea lights and faux diamond confetti.  The two end walls had a curtain of lights behind gossamer curtains.
