This is the last of my trio of Target Dollar Spot upcycles. I’m sharing a charming heart garland that I made into a vintage love letter themed garland.
I obviously have a love for vintage items. I mean look at those beautiful glass doors I was able to salvage from a 100-year-old San Francisco home! I was excited to vintage-up this darling garland I found at Target.
This is what I started with. Each heart has clothes pin on the back.
Supply list:
- Wooden heart garland from Target Dollar Spot
- Sanding block
- Envelopes (try the Dollar Spot or these)
- Tea bags
- Red and pink markers
- Printed vintage stamps
- Mod Podge
- Paint brush
The first step was to sand down the hearts a bit to give them a more aged look.
Another Dollar Spot find! This pack of cards and envelopes was only $1! I used soaked tea bags to “age” the envelopes.
I rubbed the tea bags on the envelopes until they were soaked through and then let them dry overnight.
Using felt tip markers, I marked around the envelope edge to give the vintage Air Mail look.
After the edges were complete, I “addressed” my notes with sweet pet names.
I Google image searched for red or pink vintage stamps and printed off the ones I liked. After cutting them out, I Mod Podged them onto my envelopes.
I adore how this turned out!
Look how precious this looks paired with my old mailbox collection! You’ve got mail!!
