Target Dollar Spot Upcycles: Valentine’s Day Cutting Board

Lara and I are pretty vocal about our love of Target, especially their Dollar Spot. We can’t make a trip to Target without leaving with something from there!! The Valentine items were adorable this year and gave me some awesome inspiration. This post is a series of three where I take those cute, cheap items and make them unique and personalized.

First up is this adorable cutting board. It was only $3 and I loved how simple it was with the heart cut out. I decided it would be so sweet to add a family recipe written in my great grandmother’s handwriting.

The bride and groom for this wedding were the cutest! They knew each other in high school but it wasn’t until life took them on adventures to different places and they began to write letters to one another, that they started to build a great friendship that eventually turned into love! What a great love story, right?!

I was approached to help plan a baby shower for a couple of Oakland A’s super fans. After finding out they were expecting a little girl, we all loved the idea of having a baseball theme with a girly twist.

Airstream Annie Update: Shell/Trailer Separation

My husband, Ryan, has been busy!! We’ve had Annie (our 1976 Airstream Sovereign 31′) for almost a year and slowly but surely we’ve been tearing her down so that we can build her up. Here is an update with more to come! (The next update can be found here.)

We posted this picture on our Instagram around 7 months ago and that was the beginning of our shell off restoration. We began by bracing the inside of the shell with 2×12’s, 4×4’s, strong tie braces and A LOT of screws!If you would like to read about Annie’s beginning click here

Vintage Around-the-World Bridal Shower

One of my most favorite people in the world got engaged and I knew I wanted to throw her a bridal shower!! The bride-to-be, Annie, was one of the girls in the group I was a leader over at church. We (along with Rebekah, another girl from the group) connected right away and have been best friends ever since!

Annie went away to college to Brigham Young University, Hawaii. I know, I’m jealous too! It was there that she met her fiance, Adit. Adit is from Indonesia and also attends BYU-H. I loved that there was a lot of airplane travel to get these two in the right place at the right time to find each other. I found old atlas books at the thrift store and cut out the maps of where they were both from and where they met.

I had a friend of mine find out she was going to have a boy after having two girls! With her husband being an air traffic controller and their nursery being decorated in vintage airplanes, I thought an airplane-themed baby shower was fitting!!
