I’ve been feeling major Disneyland withdrawals lately! I love everything about it… the smell of popcorn, the music being piped through the park and even collecting the free souvenir buttons to commemorate each trip. As you can see, I’ve collected quite a few! Each one reminds me of a birthday, anniversary, new land opening, food festival… the list goes on and on! I’ve come up with a fun, easy way to display these special “memories” so I can enjoy them more often.
My plan is to turn these adorable buttons into magnets!
Oh, and get a deal on Disneyland tickets here!
For this DIY, you’ll need:
pliers,
snips,
a glue gun
and magnets.
Use the pliers to pinch the pin on the clasp side. Snip the very outer side as close to the pin back as you can.
Switch to the other side and use the pliers to pinch the hinge side of the pin. Feel free to pull the pin to the side to get the snips in to cut as close to the pin back as you can.
Once the pin is cut off, I apply glue to the cut pin to cover any sharp points.
Then apply glue to the center of the pin for your magnet.
Place magnet and move, if necessary, to the center of the pin back. Let dry for around 15 to 20 minutes.
Once dry, add your magnets to your magnet boards (like our Vintage Window Magnetic Chalkboard), refrigerators or any metal surface that needs a little happy added!
These cuties are already bringing me so much joy! Now, every time I walk past my board, I’m reminded of shared laughs with my favorite people, celebrating special occasions and of course… the popcorn! Need a Disney fix soon?? Contact Getaway Today and tell them Jolly and Happy sent you! And be sure to show us what buttons you get!
