Late last year I found out I was chosen to be on the Chick-fil-A Moms Panel. I was SUPER excited because I adore Chick-fil-A!! Not only is the food there amazing and high quality, the company itself is just as awesome with its community involvement and high standards. Needless to say, I’ve enjoyed my partnership and have looked forward to the fun challenges I get to participate in!
You see that?? That’s not just a yummy bowl of Chick-fil-A’s famous chicken tortilla soup, it’s also my next #chickfilamomsDIY challenge! My job (after chowing down all that deliciousness) is to upcycle the soup container. My kids and I brainstormed a bunch of ideas and narrowed it down to two. We decided to do both!
First up: using our (read my kids) latest obsession as our muse, we thought a fun upcycle would be a Tsum Tsum storage box. And of course, Mickey was our first choice! We printed off an image about the size of our lid and got to work!
We used painters tape to tape off the edge and placed the lid over the print out to use as a guide and proceeded to paint on Mickey’s face.
Our second design was definitely more my idea. With softball/baseball season quick approaching, I always try to have a bag with supplies handy at all times. Snacks, water bottles, sunscreen and… a first aid kit!! I taped this second lid off to paint on my Red Cross.
After each lid was painted and had dried, I used a spray clear coat to protect my designs. Once that dried, I removed the tape and they were ready to use!!
From this….. (oh so good!)
…. to this!! Ok, ok! I kinda love those little Tsum Tsum too!
And this!! My handy dandy Chick-first-Aid kit!!
I really enjoyed this challenge! Not only was it fun to brainstorm with my kids but we also got to talking about other ways we can reuse and upcycle items! We are already storing up more soup bowls so all five kiddos can paint one with their favorite Disney Tsum Tsum character. (Keep and eye out for Belle, Donald Duck, Cheshire Cat, Goofy and Winnie the Pooh!!)
Love this idea! The tsum tsum painted on the front is so cute!
So cute with the Tsum Tsum – but is it sad that we would need a *few* more containers to hold my daughter’s collections?! Yikes! Love the first aid kit idea!
