Well it happened. My baby turned 1. Even though I wanted to curl up in the corner and pretend it wasn’t happening, we celebrated, of course.
One day, I was looking for ideas for her birthday and came upon this fabric on Pinterest. I showed Meghan, we fell in love and that’s where the inspiration for the entire party came from…

…this swatch of fabric.
One the door I just cut a 1 out of cardboard and then glued paper on it. I used a sharpie to make a birch pattern. That awesome fox? I got it from We Lived Happily Ever After.com. You can get it here. She does hecka cute stuff and it was FREE!
I wrapped those posts in white butcher paper and then took a fat sharpie and marked it up to look like birch trees. I added some simple pennant flags to mimic the fabric
We strung up some canvas to make this cute tent for the kids.
I mean, seriously, aren’t those pencils the cutest?
The spread.
Simply some lemonade and birch straws.
Meghan’a husband, Ryan custom built that cupcake stand. Mad skills.
We were going for the naked cake look. Love that that’s in right now because, eh hem, I’m not much of a baker/cake decorator. I needed Meghan to help me with that.
Cupcakes were just vanilla with some powdered sugar dusted on top. Simple and super yummy.
Just adding burlap and fake moss helped tie things together.
For my ONE I just cut out the letters and used my handy sharpie again. I couldn’t find birch or wood paper any where. Yes, I’m sure I can find it online somewhere but I never do these things with enough time for shipping. Lets be real here.
Birfday girl testing out the cake…..I think she likes it.
So get this, Meghan got her hands on that awesome fabric and had this amazingly cute outfit made for her big day. Meghan is amazing and incredibly thoughtful. Thank you!

Lastly, this part is my favorite.
I took a picture of Tay each month in the same chair. It was so fun to see how she’s grown each month. We just used some washi tape to display it.
Lets just hope this next year doesn’t go as fast as the last.

Awesome! Thanks
My daughter turns one in two days. You did a MUCH better job than I did. I was going to do this whole thing, but my husband convinced me to just have a smash cake photo session instead. Since none of our family live near us we agreed it would be best to do a beautiful photo op instead. But this makes me wish I did it anyways! Thanks for sharing <3
What a cute idea for a party. I think my 10 year old girl would even like this one. Thank you so much for sharing at Thriving on Thursdays. I'm featuring this at tomorrow's party. Hope to see you again.

Thank you! Funny this party almost didn't happen! I'm glad I stuck with it. I've been in that situation where there is no family around, so I totally get it!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
There are just so many great things going on with this party! The tent for the little ones? Ah-mazing!! The cupcake stand? Awesome. But most importantly, the love that went into putting thought into every detail jumps out and grabs a hold of my heart. Wonderful job!
You are so sweet, Sarah, thank you. Yes, it is always a labor of love! 🙂
